Beyond Design
Any engineering improvement plan must look beyond design. Designs interfaces must be included.
Product, test & Program management. There may be disconnects in expectations.
End Customer. Must include the interface to the end customer.

The Fuzzy Front End is the time from initial discussions to requirements closure. This can last as long as the project, if not managed to closure.
Specification Closure. Must manage the closure on requirements.
Early Resources. Don't skimp on resources that are necessary to scope a product design project properly.
